Meet Alex

I bring a unique combination of scientific expertise, research, project management and flyfishing  to the rehabilitation of rivers and lakes. My approach is rooted in science but firmly focused on practical solutions that restore the health & biodiversity of our freshwater ecosystems.  I own and operate a successful flyfishing business, on a daily basis see the problems facing our rivers and lakes.

My professional career began with six years as a laboratory scientist in water quality assessment, environmental monitoring & testing. I subsequently spent 10 years working as a senior researcher and project manager with an Irish university, delivering EU-funded digital projects for the academic and business community.

I have a strong working knowledge of the Irish funding landscapes and stakeholders. I develop solutions that work with the biodiversity of each waterbody and work in harmony with our salmonoid ecosystems, our fisheries and clubs.  My work combines detailed assessment, scientific evidence and practical intervention to deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes for rivers, lakes and the ecosystems they support.

I work with fisheries, clubs and communities to restore healthy, resilient freshwater environments for the benefit of our trout and salmon, our wildlife, our anglers, and future generations. Reach out today and let’s get you on track to bringing our rivers and lakes back to life.
